What is the meaning of VRF, VRF-Lite and VRF Application Aware?
VRF: It is used by L3VPN. Basically, it is not a protocol or module like OSPF.
The traditional L3VPN solution includes IP routing protocol, VRF and MPLS.
VRF-Lite: In private network, users can acquire the L3VPN function partly by only using IP
routing protocol and VRF, without using MPLS. This is called VRF-lite.
One protocol is labelled with "VRF-Lite" means it can be used in VRF-lite or L3VPN environment.
